Network pharmacology and molecular docking to explore the mechanism of Sheng Xue Bao mixture against iron deficiency anemia
Medicine (Baltimore). 2023 Sep 15;102(37):e35012. doi: 10.1097/MD.0000000000035012.ABSTRACTBased on network pharmacology and molecular docking, we investigated the mechanism of action of Sheng Xue Bao mixture (SXBM) in treating iron deficiency anemia (IDA). We screened the HERB and traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology database and analysis platform databases to identify the active ingredients and targets of SXBM. The targets associated with "iron deficiency anemia" were collected from GeneCards, TTD, and OMIM databases. A component-target interaction network was constructed using Cytoscape 3.8.2. The protein-p...

Salidroside suppresses proliferation and migration in prostate cancer via the PI3K/AKT pathway
CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated that in PCa cells, salidroside inhibites proliferation and migration and promots apoptosis via inhibiting PI3K/AKT pathway.PMID:37545219 | DOI:10.3233/CBM-220454

LC-MS metabolomic evidence metabolites from Oenothera rosea L ´ Hér. ex Ait with antiproliferative properties on DU145 human prostate cancer cell line
Biomed Pharmacother. 2023 Jul 28;165:115193. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2023.115193. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTProstate cancer remains one of the leading health issues without a fully effective treatment. Medicinal plants are one of the primary sources of compounds for treating numerous ailments. In this sense, the Oenothera genus contains metabolites with antiproliferative activity on cancer cells. For this, the study aimed to explore the antiproliferative activity of its extracts against prostate cancer and identify its metabolites (under metabolomics analyses) associated with anticancer and/or antiproliferative propertie...

Tanshinone IIA targeting cell signaling pathways: a plausible paradigm for cancer therapy
Pharmacol Rep. 2023 Jul 13. doi: 10.1007/s43440-023-00507-y. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNatural compounds originating from plants offer a wide range of pharmacological potential and have traditionally been used to treat a wide range of diseases including cancer. Tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA), a bioactive molecule found in the roots of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herb Salvia miltiorrhiza, has been shown to have remarkable anticancer properties through several mechanisms, such as inhibition of tumor cell growth and proliferation, metastasis, invasion, and angiogenesis, as well as induction of apoptosis and autophagy...
