Economical Evaluation of Cancer Types Using Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy Compared to 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSION: The results can help to decide whether to use radiation therapy and radiotherapy in the standard treatment path. Furthermore, they underline that IMRT treatment technique was cost effective for a long-time care service.PMID:37593521 | PMC:PMC10430406 | DOI:10.18502/ijph.v52i7.13237

Prognostic utility of RECIP 1.0 with manual and AI-based segmentations in biochemically recurrent prostate cancer from < sup > 68 < /sup > GaGa-PSMA-11 PET images
CONCLUSION: RECIP 1.0 was demonstrated to be prognostic in a BCR PCa population and is robust to two different segmentation methods, including a novel AI-based method. RECIP 1.0 can be used to assess disease progression in PCa patients with less advanced disease. This study was registered with the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (ACTRN12615000608561) on 11 June 2015.PMID:37550494 | DOI:10.1007/s00259-023-06382-2

Is PSMA PET/CT cost-effective for the primary staging in prostate cancer? First results for European countries and the USA based on the proPSMA trial
CONCLUSION: We assume that the use of PSMA PET/CT is appropriate from a health economic perspective, but this will need to be verified by a prospective evaluation of patients at initial diagnosis.PMID:37428216 | DOI:10.1007/s00259-023-06332-y

Trends and variation in prostate cancer diagnosis via transperineal biopsy in Australia and New Zealand
CONCLUSIONS: In this binational registry, prostate cancer is now more commonly diagnosed by TP than the TR approach. While the gap between uptakes of TP has diminished for patients with low vs. high SES, disparity has widened for patients from outer regional areas vs major cities and public vs. private hospitals.PMID:37258371 | DOI:10.1016/j.urolonc.2023.05.011

Incidence profile of four major cancers among migrants in Australia, 2005-2014
CONCLUSIONS: This study describes cancer patterns among Australian migrants, which are potentially helpful in understanding the etiology of these cancers and guiding the implementation of culturally sensitive and safe prevention measures. The lower incidence rates observed for most migrant groups may be maintained with continued emphasis on supporting communities to minimize modifiable risk factors such as smoking and alcohol consumption and participation in organized cancer screening programmes. Additionally, culturally sensitive tobacco control measures should be targeted to migrant communities with high lung cancer inci...
