Ciltacabtagene Autoleucel in Patients With Prior Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant in the CARTITUDE-1 Study
CONCLUSION: Cilta-cel efficacy and safety were comparable between CARTITUDE-1 patients with and without prior alloSCT. Additional studies are needed to fully elucidate the suitability of CAR-T cell therapy in the post-alloSCT setting.PMID:37716872 | DOI:10.1016/j.clml.2023.08.012

Telocytes protect against lung tissue fibrosis through hexokinase 2-dependent pathway by secreting hepatocyte growth factor
In conclusion, TCs can protect against lung tissue fibrosis by releasing HGF, a process dependent on HK2.PMID:37715611 | DOI:10.1111/1440-1681.13823

With Comparable Outcomes, Should Early Stage Lung Cancer Be A Contraindication to Lung Transplant?
CONCLUSIONS: One- and 5-year survival rates were comparable between LTx recipients with incidentally noted pathological Stage I NSCLC and contemporary recipients without cancer. All cancer-related mortality occurred in recipients with incidentally noted advanced NSCLC. These results suggest that patients with pathological Stage I lung cancer at the time of transplant have outcomes comparable to those without cancer findings at the time of transplant.PMID:37704001 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2023.09.002

Colitis induced by PD-1 inhibitor combined with platinum-containing dual drug chemotherapy in Lewis mice and its mechanism
CONCLUSIONS: This treatment can inhibit the growth of transplanted tumors but will cause colitis in Lewis mice. The impairment of intestinal barrier function following administration cause an imbalance in the expression of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory factors in the colon, thus causing colitis.PMID:37675720 | DOI:10.4103/jcrt.jcrt_2078_22

Whole Blood-Derived circUSP10 Acts as a Diagnostic Biomarker in Patients With Early-Stage Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer
Cell Transplant. 2023 Jan-Dec;32:9636897231193066. doi: 10.1177/09636897231193066.ABSTRACTAccumulating evidence has indicated that differentially expressed noncoding circular RNAs (circRNAs) play essential roles in the occurrence and development of various types of cancer. Here, we aimed to identify and explore the diagnostic value of hsa_circ_0003026 (named circUSP10) in patients with early non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The differentially expressed circRNAs were screened from the microarray-based assay of human NSCLC tissues and their corresponding noncancerous tissues, and the candidate circRNAs were further verifi...

Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation Improves Outcome in Myelodysplastic Syndrome Across High-Risk Genetic Subgroups: Genetic Analysis of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network 1102 Study
CONCLUSION: HCT improved OS compared with non-HCT treatment in patients with TP53 mutations irrespective of TP53 allelic status. Patients with IPSS-M very high risk without a TP53 mutation had favorable outcomes when a donor was available.PMID:37607457 | DOI:10.1200/JCO.23.00866

Deficiency of circ_0103809 Attenuates Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Malignant Progression by Controlling miR-153-3p/HDAC1 Network
Biochem Genet. 2023 Aug 10. doi: 10.1007/s10528-023-10470-1. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCircular RNAs are vital players in tumorigenesis. We held the purpose to investigate the role and mechanism of circ_0103809 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The expressions of circ_0103809, miR-153-3p and HDAC1 mRNA were determined using quantitative real-time PCR assay, and HDAC1 protein was quantified using western blot analysis. MTT, EdU, flow cytometry, tube-formation, wound healing and tube-formation assays were conducted for functional analysis. The predicted relationship among circ_0103809, miR-153-3p and HDAC1 was ascer...

Decoupled neoantigen cross-presentation by dendritic cells limits anti-tumor immunity against tumors with heterogeneous neoantigen expression
Elife. 2023 Aug 7;12:e85263. doi: 10.7554/eLife.85263. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCancer immunotherapies, in particular checkpoint blockade immunotherapy (CBT), can induce control of cancer growth, with a fraction of patients experiencing durable responses. However, the majority of patients currently do not respond to CBT and the molecular determinants of resistance have not been fully elucidated. Mounting clinical evidence suggests that the clonal status of neoantigens (NeoAg) impacts the anti-tumor T cell response. High intratumor heterogeneity (ITH), where the majority of NeoAgs are expressed subclonally, is correlat...

Proteolytic inactivation of CXCL12 in the lungs and circulation of COVID-19 patients
Cell Mol Life Sci. 2023 Jul 28;80(8):234. doi: 10.1007/s00018-023-04870-0.ABSTRACTThe human chemokine stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1) or CXCL12 is involved in several homeostatic processes and pathologies through interaction with its cognate G protein-coupled receptor CXCR4. Recent research has shown that CXCL12 is present in the lungs and circulation of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, the question whether the detected CXCL12 is bioactive was not addressed. Indeed, the activity of CXCL12 is regulated by NH2- and COOH-terminal post-translational proteolysis, which significantly impairs its ...
