LncRNA MNX1-AS1 contributes to lung adenocarcinoma progression by targeting the miR-34a/SIRT1 axis
Am J Transl Res. 2022 Jul 15;14(7):4977-4989. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTLncRNA MNX1-AS1 is known to be involved in progression of several tumor types. However, few studies have investigated the molecular mechanism of MNX1-AS1 in lung adenocarcinoma (LAC). To explore the function of MNX1-AS1 in the pathogenesis of LAC, qRT-PCR was performed to show MNX1-AS1 expression. MNX1-AS1 expression in LAC cells was suppressed by siRNA to detect the biologic behavior. The relationships among miR-34a, MNX1-AS1 and SIRT1 were confirmed by pull-down and dual-luciferase reporter assay. Whether MNX1-AS1 was involved in LAC by targeting miR-...

Ras suppressor-1 (RSU1) exerts a tumor suppressive role with prognostic significance in lung adenocarcinoma
AbstractRas suppressor-1 (RSU1), originally described as a suppressor of Ras oncogenic transformation, localizes to focal adhesions interacting with the ILK-PINCH-PARVIN (IPP) complex that exerts a well-established oncogenic role in cancer. However, RSU1 implication in lung cancer is currently unknown. Our study aims to address the role of RSU1 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUADC). We here show that RSU1 protein expression by immunohistochemistry is downregulated in LUADC human tissue samples and represents a significant prognostic indicator. In silico analysis of gene chip and RNA seq data validated our findings. Depletion of R...

Prognostic significance of NAP1L1 expression in patients with early lung adenocarcinoma.
In this study, we investigated the relationship between NAP1L1 expression and the clinicopathological parameters and prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer patients. To this end, the expression of NAP1L1 in tumor samples was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. NAP1L1 expression was significantly associated with reduced differentiation (P = 0.00014), higher pathological TNM stages (P < 0.00001), lymph node metastasis (P < 0.00001), intrapulmonary metastasis (P = 0.02955), lymphatic invasion (P = 0.00019), vascular invasion (P = 0.00008) and poorer prognosis (P = 0.0008) of patients with adenocarcinoma. Moreover, multi...

Extracellular vesicles from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells treated with siRNA against ELFN1-AS1 suppress colon adenocarcinoma proliferation and migration.
This study aimed to explore the regulatory role of ELFN1-AS1 in COAD and construct a gene delivery system based on extracellular vesicles (EVs). We found that ELFN1-AS1 levels were obviously increased in COAD patients and COAD tumor cells. Knockdown of ELFN1-AS1 expression by siRNA inhibited COAD cell proliferation and migration. Moreover, silencing ELFN1-AS1 significantly reduced the activation of extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (Erk), up-regulated the protein expression of E-cadherin and down-regulated vimentin. In addition, we treated human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) with siRNA-ELFN1-A...
