RNA interference targeting hypoxia-inducible factor 1α via a novel multifunctional surfactant attenuates glioma growth in an intracranial mouse model.
CONCLUSIONS Treating glioblastoma with siRNA targeting HIF-1α in vivo can significantly reduce tumor growth and increase survival in an intracranial mouse model, a finding that has direct clinical implications. PMID: 25423275 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

COL1A2 inhibition suppresses glioblastoma cell proliferation and invasion
CONCLUSIONS: COL1A2 plays an important role in driving GBM progression. COL1A2 inhibition attenuated GBM proliferation by promoting cell cycle arrest, indicating that COL1A2 could be a promising therapeutic target for GBM treatment.PMID:35932265 | DOI:10.3171/2022.6.JNS22319

Suppression of tumor growth via IGFBP3 depletion as a potential treatment in glioma.
CONCLUSIONSOur findings suggest IGFBP3 predicts poor outcome of glioma patients and is a potential therapeutic target for which depletion of its expression suppresses tumor growth through inducing apoptosis and accumulation of DNA damage in glioma cells. Gliomagenesis is orchestrated by the Oct3/4 regulatory network
J Neurosurg Sci. 2021 Aug 3. doi: 10.23736/S0390-5616.21.05437-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTGlioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a lethal brain tumor characterized by developmental hierarchical phenotypic heterogeneity, therapy resistance and recurrent growth. Neural stem cells (NSCs) from human central nervous system (CNS), and glioblastoma stem cells from patient-derived GBM (pdGSC) samples and cultured in both 2D well-plate and 3D monoclonal neurosphere culture system (pdMNCS). The pdMNCS model shows promise to establish a relevant 3D-tumor environment that maintains GBM cells in the stem cell phase within suspended neu...
