ATRX loss suppresses the type I interferon response in sarcoma cells through chromatin remodeling
Am J Cancer Res. 2023 Aug 15;13(8):3547-3558. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTSarcomas constitute a heterogeneous group of mesenchymal cancers and are particularly common in children and adolescents, leading to significant lethality. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the underlying mechanisms by which genetic alterations promote sarcoma progression. Here, we demonstrate that loss-of-function of ATRX, a member of the SWI/SNF DNA-remodeling family, represses the interferon (IFN)-β response by inducing chromatin remodeling in sarcoma cells. We show that ATRX mutations are associated with worse prognosis and attenuate IFN-α/...

The regulation of circRNA and lncRNAprotein binding in cardiovascular diseases: Emerging  therapeutic targets
Biomed Pharmacother. 2023 Jun 29;165:115067. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2023.115067. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNoncoding ribonucleic acids (ncRNAs) are a class of ribonucleic acids (RNAs) that carry cellular information and perform essential functions. This class encompasses various RNAs, such as small nuclear ribonucleic acids (snRNA), small interfering ribonucleic acids (siRNA) and many other kinds of RNA. Of these, circular ribonucleic acids (circRNAs) and long noncoding ribonucleic acids (lncRNAs) are two types of ncRNAs that regulate crucial physiological and pathological processes, including binding, in several organs...

Short interfering RNA in colorectal cancer: is it wise to shoot the messenger?
This study focuses on many innovative siRNA therapies and methodologies for delivering siRNA therapeutics to the malignant site safely and effectively for the treatment of CRC. Treatment of CRC using siRNA-associated nanoparticles (NPs) may inhibit the activity of oncogenes and MDR-related genes by targeting a range of signaling mechanisms. This study summarizes several siRNAs targeting signaling molecules, as well as the therapeutic approaches that might be employed to treat CRC in the future.PMID:37011722 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejphar.2023.175699

TEM1 up-regulates MMP-2 and promotes ECM remodeling for facilitating invasion and migration of uterine sarcoma
ConclusionTEM1 was co-expressed and positively correlated with MMP-2 in uterine leiomyosarcoma specimens. In addition, both TEM1 and MMP-2 were associated with tumor development. TEM1 promoted uterine sarcoma progression by regulating MMP-2 activity and ECM remodeling.

Oncogenic < em > BRAF < /em > < sup > V600E < /sup > induces microglial proliferation through extracellular signal-regulated kinase and neuronal death through c-Jun N-terminal kinase
Neural Regen Res. 2023 Jul;18(7):1613-1622. doi: 10.4103/1673-5374.361516.ABSTRACTActivating V600E in v-Raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B (BRAF) is a common driver mutation in cancers of multiple tissue origins, including melanoma and glioma. BRAFV600E has also been implicated in neurodegeneration. The present study aims to characterize BRAFV600E during cell death and proliferation of three major cell types of the central nervous system: neurons, astrocytes, and microglia. Multiple primary cultures (primary cortical mixed culture) and cell lines of glial cells (BV2) and neurons (SH-SY5Y) were employed. BRAFV600E ...

Conclusion: These assays are suitable for routine diagnostic. The UltraFast NextGenPCR is the fastest with average time (30mins), followed by Agilent (2 hrs) and MassArray (6hrs). Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to examine, measure and compare results from different assays for SARS detection, evaluate and diagnose accurately, as well as being able to plan, organize and recommend a diagnostic procedure for diagnostic laboratory. Key words: SARS-CoV-2, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, limit of detection, quantification cycle, COVID-19, in vitro diagnostic tests, Agilent, Massarray, Ultrafast. [20] From t...
