Detection and verification of 2.3 million cancer mutations in NCI60 cancer cell lines with a cloud search engine.
We present and examine the abilities of Bolt, a new cloud-based proteomics search engine to search for the presence of over 2.3 million known cancer mutations in a matter of minutes while still performing a standard proteomics search that includes 31 post translational modifications. We use previously published proteomics data sets and identify mutations that are verified using genomic studies as well as previous proteomics efforts. Is Movember synonymous with moustaches or men's health? An examination of internet search activity for prostate and testicular cancer during the campaign
ConclusionWe concluded that the Movember campaign is consistently linked in the public consciousness with novelty facial hair and only weakly associated with an awareness of prostate and testicular cancers. Whilst the funding generated by the campaign should be commended, more could be done to link the campaign and moustaches to awareness of common male cancers.

Obesity, risk of biochemical recurrence, and prostate ‐specific antigen doubling time after radical prostatectomy: results from the SEARCH database
ConclusionWhile we confirmed that higher BMI was associated with BCR, we found no link between BMI and PSADT at the time of recurrence. Our data suggest obese men do not have more aggressive recurrences. Future studies are needed to test whether obesity predicts response to salvage therapies.

Next Phase of NIH Preprint Pilot Launching Soon
Last month, the National Library of Medicine (NLM)announced plans to extend its NIH Preprint Pilot in PubMed Central (PMC) and PubMed beyond COVID-19 to encompass all preprints reporting on NIH-funded research. Second Phase of the NIH Preprint Pilot Launched
Today, we are pleased to announce the launch of the second phase of the NIH Preprint Pilot with the addition of more than 700 new preprint records to PubMed Central (PMC) and PubMed. This second phase expands the scope of the Pilot to include preprints resulting from all NIH-funded research. Eligible preprints are those acknowledging direct support of an NIH award or authored by NIH staff and posted to bioRxiv, medRxiv, arXiv, or Research Square, on or after January 1, 2023.
