Chemotherapy-Induced Arrhythmias
Abstract: Cardio-oncology is a subspeciality within cardiology that has developed primarily as a consequence of the cardiovascular implications of cancer and its therapeutics. Arrhythmias are increasingly recognized as an adverse feature of many chemotherapeutic agents. This relationship is poorly defined and studied in the literature compared with other side effects of chemotherapy. In this review, we appraise the published literature on arrhythmogenic consequences of chemotherapeutic agents and summarize the available evidence. Atrial fibrillation (AF) and other supraventricular tachycardias are frequently observed i...

Coronary artery calcification scoring system based on the coronary artery calcium data and reporting system (CAC-DRS) predicts major adverse cardiovascular events or all-cause death in patients with potentially curable lung cancer without a history of cardiovascular disease
In conclusion, the CAC-DRS score on non-gated standard CT can predict incident MACEs and/or all-cause death in patients with potentially curable resected lung cancer. Lung cancer survivors with a greater CAC-DRS category may need more active management of cardiovascular risk factors.

Relation of Platelet Parameters with Incident Cardiovascular Disease (The Dongfeng-Tongji Cohort Study)
This study aimed to investigate the above-mentioned prospective relations in the middle-aged and older Chinese populations based on the Dongfeng-Tongji (DFTJ) cohort. We included 31,751 participants who were free of coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke, cancer, or severely abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) at baseline.

The Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Pilot Study: an European Survey on Methodology and results of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation conducted by the European Heart Rhythm Association
Conclusion The AFib Ablation Pilot Study provided crucial information on the epidemiology, management, and outcomes of catheter ablation of AFib in a real-world setting. The methods used to assess the success of the procedure appeared at least suboptimal. Even in this context, the 12-month success rate appears to be somewhat lower to the one reported clinical trials.
