ConclusionModerate evidence showed that the use of omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events, myocardial infarction, and cardiovascular death. Compared to other types of omega-3 fatty acids supplements, we support the use of prescription EPA ethyl ester formulations for the prevention of cardiovascular disease, but the potential risk of atrial fibrillation and bleeding cannot be ignored. Impact of Clopidogrel Therapy on Mortality and Cancer in Patients With Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease: A Patient-Level Meta-Analysis Pharmacology
Conclusions— Across trials of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, extended-duration clopidogrel on a background of aspirin has no overall effect on mortality or cancer but does reduce rates of myocardial infarction and stroke and increase rates of bleeding. These findings emphasize the need for selective use of extended clopidogrel therapy in patients in whom the risks of ischemia are not fully counterbalanced by the risks of bleeding.

Conclusion: Discordance between guidelines and practice was found regarding prescription of OACs and maintenance of optimal anticoagulation for stroke prevention in our population.
