Regulation of Anion Channel LRRC8 Volume-Regulated Anion Channels in Transport of 2'3'-Cyclic GMP-AMP and Cisplatin under Steady State and Inflammation
In this study, we demonstrated that VRACs comprising LRRC8A and LRRC8E (LRRC8A/E-containing VRACs), specialized in cGAMP transport, can be opened by a protein component present in serum under resting condition. Serum depletion ablated the tonic activity of LRRC8A/E-containing VRACs, decreasing cGAMP transport in various human and murine cells. Also, heating or proteinase K treatment abolished the ability of serum to activate VRAC. Genetic analyses revealed a crucial role for cGAMP synthase (cGAS) in serum/TNF-promoted VRAC activation. Notably, the presence of cGAS on the plasma membrane, rather than its DNA-binding or enzy...

Enhanced autophagy interacting proteins negatively correlated with the activation of apoptosis-related caspase family proteins after focal ischemic stroke of young rats
CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, the present results suggest that the the reduced levels of neuronal death after CIR in young rats were closely related to enhanced levels of autophagy and reduced levels of pro-apoptosis in neurons.PMID:36171540 | DOI:10.1186/s12868-022-00740-w

Continuous ingestion of sodium chloride solution promotes allergen absorption and may exacerbate allergy symptoms on ovalbumin-induced food allergy in mice
In this study, we investigated the effect of continuous ingestion of sodium chloride (NaCl) on allergy symptoms using a mouse model of food allergy. BALB/c mice were divided into four groups of 6-8 animals each. The control-water group (CW) and sensitization-water group (SW) groups were provided free access to water, and the control-1% NaCl group (CS) and sensitization-1% NaCl group (SS) groups were provided a 1% NaCl solution. The SW and SS groups were sensitized with 50 µg ovalbumin (OVA) at 2 timepoints by intraperitoneal injection. After oral administration of OVA, anaphylactic response was measured and blood was coll...

Trends in volume-regulated anion channel (VRAC) research: visualization and bibliometric analysis from 2014 to 2022
Conclusion: The aim of this bibliometric analysis is to provide an overall perspective for research on VRAC. VRAC has become a topic of increasing interest, and our analysis shows that it continues to be a prominent area. This study offers insights into the investigation of VRAC channel and may guide researchers in identifying new directions for future research.
