One million NHS staff across England to get a pay rise
Over a million hospital cleaners, nurses, security guards, physiotherapists, emergency call handlers, paramedics, midwives, radiographers and other NHS staff across England will now benefit from a three-year pay deal, say health unions today (Friday).
Since March when the offer was first made, the 14 unions have been asking NHS staff whether they want to accept or reject the proposed pay rise, which would mean a 6.5% increase for most staff over the next three years, with more for the lowest paid.

Proposed NHS pay agreement to benefit more than a million staff across England
Over a million hospital porters, 999 call handlers, healthcare assistants, nurses, midwives and other NHS staff across England are being offered long overdue pay rises of between 6.5 and 29% over the next three years, say health unions today (Wednesday).
Under the proposed agreement – reached after months of negotiation between the unions, NHS employers and the government – hospital caterers, cleaners, porters and other staff on the lowest pay grade would get an immediate pay rise of over £2,000 this year (an increase of between 11 and 13%).

Health unions welcome moves on pay but warn against making staff foot the bill

All NHS staff need a pay rise that ’s above inflation, say health unions
NHS unions are today (Friday) breaking with tradition and submitting a pay claim directly to the government on behalf of more than one million health workers across the UK.
In a letter to the Chancellor, 14 health unions including UNISON, the Royal College of Nursing, the Royal College of Midwives, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Unite and the GMB, are asking Philip Hammond to earmark funds in the November Budget for a pay rise in line with inflation (Retail Price Index). The claim also calls for an additional £800 to restore some of the pay lost over the past seven years.
