Virtual Reality Simulation for Suicide Risk Assessment Training: Prevalence of Adverse Effects
CONCLUSION: These study findings are novel, given the current dearth of data regarding the use of immersive VR in simulation-based psychiatric medical education. Further studies exploring the educational effectiveness of VR SRA in simulation-based psychiatric medical education are indicated.PMID:37258946 | DOI:10.1007/s40596-023-01799-1 (Source: The Journal of American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training)

Astronauts eye-head coordination dysfunction over the course of twenty space shuttle flights
CONCLUSIONS: The in-flight alterations in EHC were presumably the result of a combination of several factors, including a transfer from allocentric to egocentric reference for spatial orientation in absence of a gravitational reference, the generation of slower head movements to attenuate motion sickness, and a decrease in smooth pursuit and vestibulo-ocular reflex performance. These results confirm that humans have several strategies for gaze behavior, between which they switch depending on the environmental conditions.PMID:37248929 | DOI:10.3233/VES-220127 (Source: Journal of Vestibular Research: Equilibrium and Orientation)
