A Multicenter Retrospective Database Evaluation of Pediatric Patients Diagnosed With Tinea Capitis
Conclusions This study found that diagnostic testing, dual therapy, and SDOH diagnostic codes were underutilized for pediatric patients diagnosed with tinea capitis. In addition, patients of races classified as Black and "other" were more likely to be diagnosed in emergency encounters, but had a higher likelihood of receiving dual therapy regardless of encounter type. Further research is needed to determine how to improve the management of tinea capitis and better understand its relationship with SDOH.PMID:37771272 | DOI:10.7812/TPP/23.070 (Source: The Permanente journal)

Impact of Clinical Decision Support Within the Electronic Medical Record on Opioid Prescribing and Dispensing
