'It sort of broke me': A thematic analysis of the psychological experiences and coping strategies employed by Australian fire-affected farmers
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates the unique set of psychological challenges Australian farmers experience in the wake of a farm fire and the coping strategies they report using to help them manage. Findings will inform the development of contextually and culturally appropriate bushfire recovery and preparedness initiatives that are tailored to meet the unique needs of farmers and build upon their existing strengths.PMID:38407355 | DOI:10.1111/ajr.13086 (Source: The Australian Journal of Rural Health)

This paper seeks to better understand smoke-free behaviours, and to systematically quantify associations between a range of SDOH and non-smoking/never-smoking among Aboriginal and Torres St...

Experiences and impact of a rural Australian high-risk foot service: A multiple-methods study
CONCLUSION: Clinicians were aware of the inequity in DFD outcomes between rural and metropolitan areas and were committed to improving outcomes, particularly with respect to First Nations peoples. Future research will explore service use and amputation rates in the longer term to further evaluate this specialised multidisciplinary care in a rural community.PMID:38337146 | DOI:10.1111/ajr.13087 (Source: The Australian Journal of Rural Health)
