Retinal changes in multiple sclerosis: An optical coherence tomography and angiography study
CONCLUSIONS: RNFL and GCL++ layers were thinner in MS patients with a history of ON and were reversely correlated with disease severity. Moreover, retinal vascular changes were observed in MS even in eyes without ON, and CC was reversely correlated with visual function and current disability. Thus, structural OCT coupled with OCT-A could represent a noninvasive and dynamic biomarker of MS severity and progression.PMID:38458836 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2023.11.014 (Source: Revue Neurologique)

Prevalence of multiple system atrophy: A literature review
CONCLUSION: The variations observed in MSA prevalence may result from differences in age distributions of the study populations, study methodology, diagnostic criteria and case assessment strategies of MSA. Thus, the comparability of these studies is limited.PMID:38453600 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2023.11.013 (Source: Revue Neurologique)

Influence of intracranial hemorrhage on clinical outcome in acute vertebrobasilar artery occlusion undergoing endovascular treatment
CONCLUSION: Any- and symptomatic ICH were strongly associated with worse clinical outcomes and increased mortality in patients with acute VBAO who underwent EVT. Asymptomatic ICH was an inverse predictor of functional independence.PMID:38453601 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2024.01.003 (Source: Revue Neurologique)

Safety and efficacy of reperfusion therapies in acute ischemic stroke related to left ventricular thrombus: A retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSION: Acute reperfusion therapies seem to be effective in the context of stroke in patients with LVT. However, further studies are needed to support the hypothesis that stroke recurrence might be related to the use of IVT.PMID:38431497 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2023.12.009 (Source: Revue Neurologique)
