SWI versus GRE-T2*: Assessing cortical superficial siderosis in advanced cerebral amyloid angiopathy
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that SWI ratings could show more disseminated cSS and higher multifocality scores in advanced CAA patients with inter-rater reliability equivalent to that obtained using GRE-T2*, regardless of level of experience.PMID:38061969 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2023.10.008 (Source: Revue Neurologique)

Seizure recurrences in generalized convulsive status epilepticus under sedation: What are its predictors and its impact on outcome?
CONCLUSIONS: Seventeen percent of patients with a GCSE requiring MV suffered from uncontrolled SE. Etiology and persistent seizures at admission were the main predictors of uncontrolled SE. Patients with uncontrolled SE had a longer duration of sedation and MV, a poor functional outcome and a higher mortality. Further studies are required to determine the impact of continuous electroencephalogram monitoring on the clinical course.PMID:38052663 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2023.09.006 (Source: Revue Neurologique)

Epileptic seizures in patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma: A systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: Further studies are needed to investigate seizures in larger cohorts of PCNSL, to clarify their prevalence, better characterize them, identify risk factors, analyze survival rates, and make recommendations on AED management. We recommend following general practice guidelines for seizures symptomatic of brain tumors and not to prescribe AED prophylaxis in PCNSL.PMID:38042665 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2023.08.021 (Source: Revue Neurologique)
