Evaluating the role of the diagnostic radiographer in identifying child safeguarding concerns: A knowledge, attitude and practice survey approach
Child safeguarding and the appropriate identification of suspected victims represents a global phenomenon. Diagnostic imaging is acknowledged as a contributory diagnostic service but the role of the radiographer in the identification and escalation process is less well understood. (Source: Radiography)

An exploration of simulation-based education from other health professionals, to create an informed and effective simulation delivery in a new diagnostic radiography programme
The recent validation of three Diagnostic Radiography programmes in the south of England involved a rigorous approval process with multiple Professional and Statutory Regulatory Bodies (PSRB's). Part of the validation process was evidencing that approximately 50% of each programme is spent undertaking practice-based learning. As well as clinical placements, practice-based learning includes simulation-based education (SBE). (Source: Radiography)

Factors affecting women's participation in mammography screening in Nordic countries: A systematic review
Mammography screening programs have been implemented in European countries as prevention tools aimed at reducing breast cancer mortality through early detection in asymptomatic women. Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland) demonstrated high participation rates; however, breast cancer mortality could be limited by further optimizing screening. This review aimed to explore factors that affect women's participation in mammography screening in Nordic countries. (Source: Radiography)

“I think this could be a big success” – A mixed methods study on practitioner perspectives on the acceptance of a virtual reality tool for preparation in MRI
A key part of a radiographer's role within MRI is providing the required emotional support to help patients succeed with a scan. Being informed is important; whilst information leaflets and videos are commonly used, these can be limited in their representation of the experience. Virtual reality tools are being shown to reasonably replicate a scan experience, having a positive impact on patient satisfaction and anxiety. The aim was to obtain the views of practitioners on the use and implementation of such a tool in practice. (Source: Radiography)

A comparative study of rectal volume variation in patients with prostate cancer: A tertiary care center study
Every day variations in rectal filling in prostate cancer radiotherapy can significantly alter the delivered dose distribution from what was intended. The goal of this study was to see if the time of treatment delivery affected the rectal filling. (Source: Radiography)

Towards person-centred radiography
The World Health Organization emphasises the need of fundamental change of healthcare towards a holistic approach to a human being.1 Thus, a people-centred healthcare framework was developed1 to guide governments to implement person-centred care. The essence of person-centred care is to create a partnership in care based on the patient's narrative and the caregiver's expertise.2,3 By listening to the patient and building on their preferences, capabilities, needs and values the caregiver acknowledges the person, a person with their own identity. Radiographers filling the mammography screening gap, but where's the evidence?
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women worldwide. In 2018 almost 12% of all cancers diagnosed were female breast cancer1. Early detection and treatment can achieve survival probabilities of 90% or higher2. When the disease is non-invasive, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%.3 This provides an opportunity for a treatment pathway that allows for the best chance of recovery. An inexpensive solution to detecting malignancies that are impalpable and measure less than 10  mm is Mammography4. (Source: Radiography)
