The role of the radiographer in promoting health: A qualitative examination of diagnostic radiographer perspectives at a Scottish Major Trauma hospital
Publication of Government directives and initiatives have signalled a shift in healthcare priorities, with growing emphasis on prevention and early intervention. In comparison to other allied health professions, perceptions of Diagnostic Radiographers of their contribution to addressing these initiatives and role in promoting health, has not been explored. There is limited evidence on current practices, knowledge and confidence in providing health promotion advice to patients within this professional group. (Source: Radiography)

Explaining the practicum experiences of diagnostic radiography undergraduates in Australia and Ethiopia using the theory of human relatedness
Practice learning is critical to the development of clinical skills; hence placements are a major component of all pre-registration radiography programmes. Nonetheless, dissatisfaction with practicum experiences is a common reason why students consider leaving such programmes. Providing effective placements which promote retention may not only require better appreciation of students ’ clinical reflections, but also a more fundamental understanding of the implicit criteria they use to appraise a practicum. Exploring factors influencing outpatient radiology attendance based on Health Belief Model (HBM): A qualitative study
Non-attendance for radiology outpatient appointments is a global issue and is associated with adverse clinical outcomes and operational inefficiencies. This paper aims to understand the underlying factors influencing outpatient radiology attendances based on the Health Belief Model (HBM). (Source: Radiography)

Radiation dose to multidisciplinary staff members during complex interventional procedures
Complex interventional radiology procedures involve extensive fluoroscopy and image acquisition while staff are in-room. Monitoring occupational radiation dose is crucial in optimization. The purpose was to determine radiation doses received by staff involved in complex interventional procedures performed in a dedicated vascular or neuro intervention room. (Source: Radiography)

Benchmarking non-attendance patterns in paediatric medical imaging: A retrospective cohort study spotlighting First Nations children
Non-attendance at Medical Imaging (MI) appointments can result in inefficiencies in healthcare resource allocation, increased financial burdens, and lead to potential barriers to effective healthcare delivery. We evaluated factors associated with non-attendance of MI appointments for children including variables: gender; age groups; residential postcodes; Indigenous status; appointment dates; appointment reminders and socio-economic status. Sonographers ’ perspectives on research – A worldwide online questionnaire study
Research has been performed by sonographers (also known as ultrasound reporting radiographers) for many years for improving diagnosis of disease, developing new imaging approaches, and enhancing patient outcomes. Despite this, sonographers ’ perspectives on research have not been well studied. To understand the views of sonographers is essential, as they have an important role in the successful implementation of research outcomes during their daily work. The study aimed to explore sonographers’ perspectives on research. A scoping review of educational programmes on artificial intelligence (AI) available to medical imaging staff
Medical imaging is arguably the most technologically advanced field in healthcare, encompassing a range of technologies which continually evolve as computing power and human knowledge expand. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the next frontier which medical imaging is pioneering. The rapid development and implementation of AI has the potential to revolutionise healthcare, however, to do so, staff must be competent and confident in its application, hence AI readiness is an important precursor to AI adoption. Clinical indications for carbon-ion radiotherapy in the UK: A critical review
Carbon-ion radiotherapy (CIRT) has unique radiobiological properties that cause increased radiobiological effect and tumour control, especially with hypoxic tissues. This critical review aimed to evaluate clinical response to CIRT across all published tumour sites to establish if there is a clinical need for a CIRT centre in the UK. (Source: Radiography)
