A new method for the treatment of unilateral posterior cross-bite: a three-dimensional finite element stress analysis study
ConclusionAsymmetric transveral maxillary expansion might be achieved from a symmetric force generating screw during SARME treatment. SARME osteotomies may concentrate the stress in the expanding maxilla and reduce the pain in other parts of the cranium. (Source: Progress in Orthodontics)

Frequency of missing teeth and reduction of mesiodistal tooth width in Japanese patients with tooth agenesis
ConclusionsCompared to hypodontia, more tooth types exhibited reduced mesiodistal tooth width in oligodontia. Correlations between CMT number and mesiodistal tooth width support the hypothesis that reduction of mesiodistal tooth width are more frequently observed in Japanese oligodontia patients than in Japanese hypodontia patients.
