Performance of an adjustable compression wrap in occupational leg swelling
CONCLUSIONS: Using the Readywrap® for 5 hours significantly reduces the leg volume. This study enables Readywrap to be studied in a population that is easy to observe in the context of a research program. The Handyscan3D® was shown accurate and reproducible to assess leg volume in future studies.PMID:38193832 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231226385 (Source: Phlebology)

Laser-sclerosing foam hybrid treatment, a non-tumescent technique for insufficient great saphenous vein ablation
CONCLUSION: The study suggests that the LSFHT is a feasible fast procedure that proved both effective and safe for the treatment of GSV insufficiency.PMID:38182555 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231226264 (Source: Phlebology)

The anterior saphenous vein. Part 1. A position statement endorsed by the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, the American Venous Forum, and the International Union of Phlebology
CONCLUSION: Based on the insights gathered from the literature review and extensive discussions, the panel recommends changing the terminology such that the "anterior accessory saphenous vein" (AASV) now be designated the anterior saphenous vein (ASV).PMID:38171644 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231224529 (Source: Phlebology)

CHIVA for dummies
CONCLUSION: For achieving the goal of saphenous conservative treatment, a limited phlebectomy and possible Junction interruption (crossotomy) may be a simplified solution.PMID:38164906 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231225788 (Source: Phlebology)

Mechanochemical ablation: disappointing long-term anatomic results and worsening symptoms

Prevalence, clinical presentation, and risk factors of chronic venous disease in Cameroon: A general population-based study
CONCLUSION: Chronic venous disease is frequent in Cameroon and main traditional cardiovascular risk factors are associated to this condition. Systematic screening of the CVD in these specific groups could reduce the burden of the disease and its economic impact.PMID:38158837 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231224111 (Source: Phlebology)

Graduated elastic compression stockings in the prevention of post-thrombotic syndrome: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Phlebology. 2023 Dec 28:2683555231225268. doi: 10.1177/02683555231225268. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: The effect of graduated elastic compression stockings (ECS) in the prevention of post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) has been questioned since a large randomized trial found no prophylactic effect of ECS.OBJECTIVE: To assess the effect of the wearing time of ECS on the incidence of post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) after proximal deep venous thrombosis, we performed a meta-analysis of the incidence of PTS across randomized and observational studies.METHOD: PubMed, Embase and Cochrane databases were searched until 12 ...
