Fibrinogen B β promoter polymorphism may not be associated with pulmonary embolism
CONCLUSION: The susceptibility to pulmonary embolism may not be affected by any SNP in the FGB promoter region.PMID:37978815 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231216915 (Source: Phlebology)

Localised intravascular coagulation complicating venous malformations: Clinical characterisation
CONCLUSION: Venous vascular malformations are probably underestimated and should probably be explored more systematically in terms of coagulation disorder regardless of size or symptomatology. The therapeutic recommendations to treat localised intravascular coagulation with low-molecular weight are not widely applied. Studies are needed, in particular to assess the role of oral anticoagulants in the management of coagulation disorder among patients with venous malformation.PMID:37978831 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231216349 (Source: Phlebology)

Assessment of skin and associated soft tissue changes with ultrasonography in chronic venous disease
CONCLUSION: US evaluation of skin changes adds insight to clinical assessment and may reveal skin changes in legs affected with CVD that may appear normal on clinical examination.PMID:37961751 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231211404 (Source: Phlebology)

Polymerisation of cyanoacrylates: The effect of sclero-embolic and contrast agents
CONCLUSIONS: The commercially available medical cyanoacrylates differ in their polymerisation rates. These polymerisation rates are further affected when these products are used in conjunction with other compounds, such as sclero-embolic and contrast agents.PMID:37944534 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231214343 (Source: Phlebology)

Core content for venous and Lymphatic Medicine: 2022 revision
Phlebology. 2023 Nov 7:2683555231212302. doi: 10.1177/02683555231212302. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe core content for a medical specialty outlines the scope of the discipline as well as the categories of knowledge considered essential to practice in the field. It provides a template for the development of curricula for medical school, graduate, and postgraduate education, as well as for creating certification standards. Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (VLM) is a specialty that has benefitted from contributions from specialists from several medical disciplines. Optimally, the societies, boards, and residency review comm...
