Implementation of a varicose vein module added to Swedvasc, the Swedish National Registry for vascular surgery
CONCLUSIONS: A national VV registry with high coverage is possible and can contribute to national quality of care. The main challenge is funding.PMID:37679745 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231201757 (Source: Phlebology)

Direct oral anticoagulants for deep vein thrombosis among patients with hereditary thrombophilia-A cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: DOACs seem to be safe and efficient for patients with hereditary thrombophilia and DVT. The presence of more than two thrombophilia factors is associated with a higher risk for symptom recurrence. Although statistically non-significant, symptoms' recurrence was also observed more frequently among patients under anti-Xa inhibitors than antithrombin inhibitors. This should be verified in larger comparative studies.PMID:37647589 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231199004 (Source: Phlebology)

Impact of lymphedema in the management of venous leg ulcers
CONCLUSIONS: The clinical presence of LED in patients with VLU is a marker for a more complex disease process with more episodes of cellulitis and expenditures, but a surprisingly low specific treatment for LED.PMID:37647614 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231197597 (Source: Phlebology)

Pigmentation of lower limbs: Contribution of haemosiderin and melanin in chronic venous insufficiency and related disorders
CONCLUSION: The predominant pigment in CVI and other vascular conditions was haemosiderin. Melanin was present in later stages of CVI (C5-C6) and in PIH.PMID:37642293 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231196702 (Source: Phlebology)

Comparison of cyanoacrylate closure and radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of small saphenous veins
CONCLUSIONS: While both techniques can be used with satisfactory and safe results in 1-year follow-up period, cyanoacrylate ablation may have a better safety profile compared to radiofrequency ablation due to lower complication rates in terms of paresthesia and sural nerve damage with similar occlusion rates.PMID:37644641 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231198625 (Source: Phlebology)
