Effects of lower limb muscle strengthening on interface pressure in older adults undergoing inelastic compression: Randomized controlled clinical trial
CONCLUSIONS: In RT group, the increase in lower limb muscle strength was accompanied by an increase in IP in foot dorsiflexion and plantar flexion maneuvers, both in the standing position (DSI) and during gait (WPA).PMID:38369821 | DOI:10.1177/02683555241235042 (Source: Phlebology)

The study on the relationship between venous ulcer and ankle joint range of motion using ultrasound
CONCLUSION: The study underscores the importance of maintaining ankle mobility in patients with CVI to prevent venous ulcers. A multifactorial approach is essential for managing these conditions effectively.PMID:38349063 | DOI:10.1177/02683555241233626 (Source: Phlebology)

The clinical and economic impact of chronic venous insufficiency-associated lymphedema and the prevalence of persistent edema after venous intervention
CONCLUSION: Treating venous hypertension improves certain venous-related signs and symptoms of CVI. However, a significant proportion of patients have persistent edema which may reflect underlying, sub-optimally treated LED.PMID:38345282 | DOI:10.1177/02683555241233355 (Source: Phlebology)

Indications, contraindications, side effects, general assessment, and outlook for the future: An International Compression Club survey
CONCLUSION: The authors highlight the gap between experts' practical use of CT and evidence-based medicine results. They also suggested that, given the cost of randomized clinical trials aimed at specifying specific indications for different devices, artificial intelligence could be used for large-scale practice surveys in the future.PMID:38300926 | DOI:10.1177/02683555241228899 (Source: Phlebology)

Third generation of laser ( & gt;1900) for endovenous thermoablation (EVLA) of varicose veins: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The overall success rate of EVLA was high. The analysis of these studies suggests that using lower parameters (Power and linear administered energy) may have no effect on the treatment success rate. Short-term results demonstrate comparable occlusion rates respect the second-generation lasers. Instead, data suggest a low complication rates. Short-term results demonstrate comparable complications rates respect the second-generation lasers (1300-1470 nm). Randomized studies with longer follow-up are required to evaluate the EVLA 1900 nm procedure further.PMID:38199976 | DOI:10.1177/02683555241227017 (Source: Phlebology)

Performance of an adjustable compression wrap in occupational leg swelling
CONCLUSIONS: Using the Readywrap® for 5 hours significantly reduces the leg volume. This study enables Readywrap to be studied in a population that is easy to observe in the context of a research program. The Handyscan3D® was shown accurate and reproducible to assess leg volume in future studies.PMID:38193832 | DOI:10.1177/02683555231226385 (Source: Phlebology)
