Dermatoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy for basal cell carcinoma diagnosis and diagnosis prediction score: A prospective and multicenter study on 1005 lesions
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is usually diagnosed by clinical and dermatoscopy examination, but diagnostic accuracy may be suboptimal. Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) imaging increases skin cancer diagnostic accuracy. (Source: Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology)

Timing of cutaneous immune-related adverse events impacts survival in patients with cancer treated with immune-checkpoint inhibitors: A multi-institutional cohort study
To the Editor: Immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized management of advanced cancer but are associated with significant toxicities. Cutaneous immune-related adverse events (cirAEs) have been associated with improved prognosis,1,2 but there is a lack of data on how the timing of cirAEs influences survival. We performed this study to investigate the impact of early-onset vs late-onset cirAEs on survival among immunotherapy recipients. (Source: Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology)

Comparative effectiveness of short contact (30-minute) lidocaine-prilocaine vs lidocaine-tetracaine topical anesthetic mixtures for cutaneous pain relief: A randomized controlled trial
To the Editor: Current topical anesthetics used in dermatology are typically a mixture of multiple agents, commonly 7% lidocaine-7% tetracaine topical anesthetic (LTTA) and 2.5% lidocaine-2.5% prilocaine topical anesthetic (LPTA).1 There are limited data regarding the effectiveness of these 2 mixtures when pre-applied less than the manufacturer recommended 60  minutes.1-3 (Source: Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology)
