PIDASI and PIHASI: Scoring tools for assessment of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation
To the Editor: Postinflammatory dyspigmentation (PID) encompasses both hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation.1 The Investigator's Global Assessment (IGA) is commonly used to measure the severity of skin changes from inflammatory diseases; however, it has no specific dyspigmentation variable.2 Recently, the Postinflammatory Dyspigmentation Area and Severity Index (PIDASI) was developed to assess the severity of postinflammatory dyspigmentation; however, it allows for only 1 pigmentation score regardless of the heterogeneity of pigmentation.
