A comparative analysis of the passivity of fit of complete arch implant-supported frameworks fabricated using different acquisition techniques
The accuracy of intraoral scanners (IOSs) in recording edentulous jaws has improved recently. However, improvement in accuracy does not necessarily imply the clinical validity of the scans, and limited information is available regarding the manufacture of passively fitting prostheses. A digital and cast-free workflow for fabricating a definitive hollow obturator prosthesis for a maxillectomy defect: A dental technique
This article presents a novel digital and cast-free workflow for fabricating a definitive hollow obturator prosthesis. A digital altered cast is made after the framework-fitting appointment to maximize support. The framework, hollow obturator base, and teeth are digitally designed, additively manufactured, and then assembled precisely without a cast. This method simplifies the laboratory process, reduces human errors, and provides a prosthesis with high accuracy and good fit. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

Digital workflow to produce 3D-printed incisal facial indirect restoration with lingual rest seats to support a removable partial denture
A technique for fabricating lingual rest seats and indirect incisal restorations using a digital workflow is described. After intraoral scanning, the incisal edge position of the restoration and lingual rest seats for a subsequent removable partial denture (RPD) were designed digitally. Adaptation was evaluated with trial restorations, and definitive restorations were printed from a 3-dimensional resin (Varseo Smile Crown Plus Bego; Wilcos). The restorations were cemented with a heated composite resin (Tetric N; Ivoclar AG) polymerized for 40 seconds. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

Oral health-related quality of life after rehabilitation with maxillary obturators: A comparison of patients with maxillectomy defects associated with cancer and post-COVID-19 mucormycosis
Maxillectomy alters function and esthetics, negatively affecting oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). OHRQoL has been assessed after prosthetic rehabilitation in patients with maxillectomy associated with cancer. However, OHRQoL studies after prosthetic rehabilitation in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) associated mucormycosis are lacking. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

Esthetic reconstruction of a localized severely resorbed anterior maxilla associated with peri-implantitis: A clinical report
This clinical report described the esthetic reconstruction of a localized severely resorbed right anterior maxilla associated with peri-implantitis. For vertical bone augmentation, guided bone regeneration surgery was performed by raising a flap with the remote incision technique, followed by soft tissue grafting and vestibuloplasty. The biologically oriented preparation technique was used to improve the health and stability of the peri-implant tissues. The surgical treatment and a novel method of prosthetic rehabilitation provided excellent esthetic and functional outcomes. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

Deep learning-based automated detection of the dental crown finish line: An accuracy study
The marginal fit of dental prostheses is a clinically significant issue, and dental computer-aided design software programs use automated methods to expedite the extraction of finish lines. The accuracy of these automated methods should be evaluated. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

Accuracy of impression scan bodies for complete arch fixed implant-supported restorations
Despite the extensive studies on and comparisons of different implant impression techniques for completely edentulous patients, studies on novel techniques that combine conventional impression making with digital scanning are lacking. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

Accuracy of an optical robotic computer-aided implant system and the trueness of virtual techniques for measuring robot accuracy evaluated with a coordinate measuring machine in vitro
A unified standard for measuring robot implantation errors has not yet been established. A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) measures the coordinates of an object with high accuracy. However, evaluations of the accuracy of a robotic computer-assisted implant system (R-CAIS) using CMM are lacking. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

Autogenous bone block osteotomy in the chin using a robotic system: A clinical report
An autogenous bone block osteotomy in the chin assisted by a robotic system is described. The size of the required bone graft was designed in the robotic system before surgery, and a precise bone block osteotomy was achieved with the assistance of the robotic system in a visualized, safe, and accurate surgical approach. Interdisciplinary treatment for an adolescent with fusion of the left maxillary lateral and central incisors: A clinical report
The interdisciplinary treatment provided for a 12-year-old boy with fusion of his left central and lateral incisors and concomitant distal space loss is described. His treatment was initiated with orthodontic therapy followed by endodontic treatment of the fused tooth. A conservative zirconia and porcelain cantilevered bonded fixed dental prosthesis was then completed to replace his left lateral incisor. (Source: Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry)

A modified reverse impression technique for capturing and transferring soft-tissue information
The reverse impression technique consists of the extraoral digitalization of an implant-supported interim prosthesis by placing scan analogs in an interim implant-supported prosthesis. The technique facilitates the recording of implant and tooth positions and allows the digitalization of the volumetric dimensions of the interim restoration. However, it is not able to register soft tissue changes during the healing process. A modified reverse impression technique is described to facilitate capturing the current dimensions and soft tissue information at the time of the definitive implant scan.
