Effect of electroacupuncture at Lower He-Sea points including Yanglingquan (GB 34) on nuclear factor- κB and interleukin-1β in guinea pigs with acute cholecystitis
ConclusionEA at the Lower He-Sea points of the stomach, large intestine, small intestine and gallbladder can produce curative effects on AC guinea pigs and reduced the inflammatory symptoms. Intervention effect of Yanglingquan (GB 34) on AC guinea pigs is superior to that of Zusanli (ST 36), Shangjuxu (ST 37) and Xiajuxu (ST 39). The mechanism of EA at Yanglingquan (GB 34) in treating AC may be regulating IL-1 β and NF-κB to control the inflammatory response and improve the gallbladder tissue damage. Study on the differences between moxibustion at different points in the effects on the anti-fatigue ability of rats undergoing one-time exhaustive swimming
ConclusionMoxibustion at Shenshu (BL 23), Zusanli (ST 36) and Shenque (CV 8) shows different anti-fatigue effects by regulating the energy metabolism and endocrine metabolism in rats undergoing one-time exhaustive swimming. Moxibustion at Shenshu (BL 23) is better in promoting energy synthesis. Moxibustion at Shenque (CV 8) is more effective in regulating synthesis and decomposition of the skeletal muscle proteins. A review of time-effect research on acupuncture in experimental rats/mice in the recent 10 years
ConclusionThroughout the time-effect studies of acupuncture intervention in experimental rats/mice, conclusions are inconsistent, especially the lack of quantitative research on acupuncture operation time, acupuncture frequency, acupuncture treatment duration, and optimal stimulation amount. Future research should explore and determine the best time-quantity parameters that affect the effectiveness of acupuncture intervention, which is the key and goal of the acupuncture time-effect research. Independent intervention-time experiments throughout the entire course of a single disease (dominant disease) need to be done to gui...
