Grading pharmacists' risk of complaints to a regulator: A retrospective cohort study
Conclusion: Distinguishing isolated incidents from persistent problems poses a significant challenge for entities responsible for the regulation of pharmacists and other health practitioners. The diagnostic properties of PRONE-Pharm (minimizing the false positives) means that the risk score is useful for "ruling-out" low risk pharmacists using routinely collected regulatory data. PRONE-Pharm may be useful when used alongside interventions appropriately matched to a pharmacist's level of risk.PMID:37026084 | PMC:PMC10071827 | DOI:10.3389/jpps.2023.11228 (Source: J Pharm Pharm Sci)

Drug-disease interaction: Clinical consequences of inflammation on drugs action and disposition
J Pharm Pharm Sci. 2023 Feb 6;26:11137. doi: 10.3389/jpps.2023.11137. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTInflammation is a culprit in many conditions affecting millions of people worldwide. A plethora of studies has revealed that inflammation and inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and chemokines are associated with altered expression and activity of various proteins such as those involved in drug metabolism, specifically cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs). Emphasis of most available reports is on the inflammation-induced downregulation of CYPs, subsequently an increase in their substrate concentrations, and the link between the co...
