Analysis of risk factors for hypoglycemia in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding induced by somatostatin for injection and establishment of the prediction model
CONCLUSION: Among adult patients with gastrointestinal bleeding treated with somatostatin for injection, our study found that age and co-infection were significant risk factors for somatostatin-induced hypoglycemia in this patient population, and the fitted models had high predictive value in predicting the occurrence of hypoglycemia.PMID:37942928 | DOI:10.5414/CP204487 (Source: International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics)

Leukopenia associated with lamotrigine initiation after COVID-19 vaccine booster: A case report and literature review

Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAdverse lamotrigine effects are more likely with concomitant use of antiepileptic drugs, rapid dose titration, and multiple drug use, highlighting the importance of measuring its concentration. Here, lamotrigine was administered the day after the third mRNA vaccination to a 20-year-old bipolar woman with these risk factors. Leukopenia occurred on day 12 without rapid concentration increase, but leukocytes gradually recovered after 22 weeks without discontinuation of lamotrigine. Phillyrin sensitizes lung cancer cells to ferroptosis through inhibiting FTH1/SLC7A11 axis
