Can the Borg CR-10 scale for neck and low back discomfort predict future neck and low back pain among high-risk office workers?
ConclusionWe identified the optimal cut-off value of the Borg CR-10 discomfort scale to identify office workers at increased risk of developing neck and low back pain. These findings might benefit ergonomists, primary health care providers, and occupational health researchers in developing targeted interventions. Occupational cold exposure in relation to incident airway symptoms in northern Sweden: a prospective population-based study
ConclusionsOccupational cold exposure was robustly associated with incident wheeze and productive cough in previously healthy workers. This adds further support to the notion that cold air is harmful for the airways, and that a structured risk assessment regarding occupational cold exposure could be considered for inclusion in the Swedish workplace legislation. Further studies are needed to elaborate on exposure –response functions, as well as suggest thresholds for hazardous cold exposure. Attitudinal behaviour of agriculturalists towards pesticide use in Pir Panjal Range of Kashmir Himalayas
ConclusionsThe coefficient of determination (R2) shows that 67.2% of the variability in farmers' PPE use was attributed to factors including knowledge, attitude, perception, and education. Musculoskeletal symptoms and associated factors among manual porcelain workers at different workstations: a cross-sectional study
ConclusionThe findings of this study showed a high occurrence of WMSDs symptoms among manual porcelain workers and suggested that both individual and work-related characteristics should be considered to improve occupational health. Furthermore, urgent ergonomic intervention is needed to avoid awkward working postures that cause WMSDs symptoms in porcelain workers, particularly at the shaping and burning workstations. Systematic literature review of the epidemiology of glyphosate and neurological outcomes
ConclusionsNo association has been demonstrated between glyphosate and any neurological outcomes in humans. To move the state of science forward, epidemiological studies should focus on scenarios involving direct and frequent use of glyphosate while collecting information on validated health outcomes, concomitant agricultural exposures, and relevant personal characteristics. Associations of self-reported occupational exposures and settings to ALS: a case –control study
This study included 381 ALS and 272 control participants. ALS participants reported higher duration-adjusted occupational exposure to particulate matter (OR  = 1.45, 95% CI 1.19–1.78,p <  0.001), volatile organic compounds (OR = 1.22, 95% CI 1.02–1.45,p = 0.029), metals (OR = 1.48, 95% CI 1.21–1.82,p <  0.001), and combustion and diesel exhaust pollutants (OR = 1.20, 95% CI 1.01–1.43,p = 0.041) prior to ALS diagnosis, when adjusted for sex, age, and military service compared to controls. In multivariable models, only occupational exposure to metals remained significant risk (OR...

Associations between physical work environment, workplace support for health, and presenteeism: a COVID-19 context
ConclusionsOrganizations with more satisfactory work environments may serve as preferred protective places for employees during a pandemic, more so within organizations with higher WSH.
