The complete anatomy of the prostatic artery: a meta-analysis based on 7421 arteries with implications for embolization and urological procedures
CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, the authors of the present study believe that this is the most accurate and up-to-date analysis regarding the highly variable anatomy of the PA. The PA originates most commonly from the internal pudendal artery (28.81%); however, it may also originate from other pelvic arteries, including the middle anorectal or the superior gluteal arteries. Moreover, accessory PAs may occur, yet, a single main PA supplying the prostate gland is most frequently observed (76.43%). The PA may also form anastomoses with the adjacent arteries (pooled prevalence of 45.20%), which may create a complex vascular networ...

Effect of different glyphosate doses on the chemical coding of neurons of the enteric nervous system of the porcine descending colon
CONCLUSIONS: The above data show that glyphosate is an exogenous substance that affects neuronal populations of the enteric nervous system, in this case, the descending colon.PMID:38078736 | DOI:10.5603/fm.97761 (Source: Folia Morphologica)

Quadriceps femoris muscle: anatomical variations, population frequencies and clinical implications
Folia Morphol (Warsz). 2023 Dec 11. doi: 10.5603/fm.97238. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRecently, the classical anatomy of the quadriceps femoris has been questioned after the publication of various morphological variations that differ from the classical description. Therefore, it is necessary to collect information to reach an agreement on its structure. For this, a systematic review was carried out using the Web of Science, Pubmed and ProQuest scientific databases, obtaining a total of 29 papers finally included in the systematic review after being subjected to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results obtained show...

A previously undescribed case of the axillary arch muscle
Folia Morphol (Warsz). 2023 Dec 11. doi: 10.5603/fm.97036. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe axillary arch muscle, also called Langer's muscle, axillopectoralis, or pectodorsalis is a muscular variation of the latissimus dorsi muscle. During a standard anatomical dissection, the axillary arch muscle was found bilaterally. On both sides it originated from the latissimus dorsi as a muscle belly. Next it was passing into wide tendinous structure attached to the tendon of the pectoralis major muscle. Then, the narrow tendinous slip inserted into the coracoid process was found. The axillary arch muscle was innervated by the tho...
