Osteometric and topographic measurement of the skull and mandible of Siirt colored Mohair goat with three-dimensional (3D) modeling technique
Folia Morphol (Warsz). 2023 Nov 24. doi: 10.5603/fm.97504. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSiirt-colored Mohair goat is one of the breeds that contributed significantly to the existence of Mohair goats reared in Turkey. Morphological and morphometric characteristics of the Siirt-colored Mohair goat remained vague owing to a lack of studies. Recent advances in high-tech imaging have replaced conventional two-dimensional anatomical structures with three-dimensional (3D) models. In our study, morphometric features were determined by 3D modeling from computed tomography images obtained from the skull and mandibular bones of Siir...

A case of novel combined variations of the renal and testicular vessels
Folia Morphol (Warsz). 2023 Nov 24. doi: 10.5603/fm.96833. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTVariations in the pattern of urogenital vessels can arise as a single occurrence or as a combination, which may increase the risk of unexpected injury during surgical procedures. Multiple variations in the renal and testicular vessels, in a novel combination, were observed during dissection of an 87-year-old Japanese male cadaver. In the present case, the patient had two renal arteries on each side. On the right side, the superior and inferior renal arteries emerged from the abdominal aorta at the L1 and L4 vertebrae levels, respective...

An unusual developmental anomaly of duplicated portal vein
CONCLUSIONS: This case report adds to the existing body of knowledge about the variation of the PV system. We present an embryological perspective for the case, which suggests the possibility of similar occurrences.PMID:37997454 | DOI:10.5603/fm.97785 (Source: Folia Morphologica)

Morphological variability of the leg muscles: potential traps on ultrasound that await clinicians
CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of additional structures including muscles and tendons during ultrasound examination can cause confusion and lead to misinterpretation of images, misdiagnosis, and the introduction of unnecessary and inappropriate treatments.PMID:37997455 | DOI:10.5603/fm.94290 (Source: Folia Morphologica)
