Arc of Riolan revisited-proposal of a new classification system
CONCLUSIONS: SMA and IMA anastomoses form an arterial network that is characterized by high variability and trail in surgically strategic areas. For this reason, simplifying the terminology and using unambiguous names of these vessels based on their trail and anatomical relationship with IMV are crucial for the proper planning and execution of surgical procedures performed on the colon.PMID:38152920 | DOI:10.5603/fm.98013 (Source: Folia Morphologica)

Challenges associated with vascular access through the common carotid artery during embalming procedures in humans: A technical note
CONCLUSIONS: Proper execution of minimally invasive access to the common carotid artery minimizes tissue damage and ensures a high success rate of the procedure. Knowledge of the types of vascular access is essential for preparing the highest quality specimens.PMID:38152921 | DOI:10.5603/fm.95539 (Source: Folia Morphologica)

Superior mesenteric artery clinical classification and morphometrical analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The proposed clinical classification of SMA links anatomic variations in morphology with their clinical significance. A simple, three-level classification can be easily applied in daily practice and serve as a great support for preoperative evaluation and recognition of patients at risk of iatrogenic or thromboembolic complications.PMID:38152922 | DOI:10.5603/fm.98167 (Source: Folia Morphologica)

Selected structures of middle ear relevant to cochlear implantation on the basis of computer tomography
CONCLUSIONS: Evaluating middle ear anatomy on a computed tomography scan is useful for preparing for middle ear surgery but does not significantly affect the ability to access the round window. For such access, the position of the window in relation to the facial nerve is the most relevant factor, and measurements based on this relationship hold the highest clinical value.PMID:38152919 | DOI:10.5603/fm.97820 (Source: Folia Morphologica)
