Systematic Review: Patient and Public Involvement of Children and Young People in Mental Health Research
CONCLUSION: Progress has been made in engaging CYP in mental health research, but there is a need for international standards, operationalization, and evaluation measures. Future research should go beyond merely reporting the PPI process itself. It should clearly indicate how and to what extent feedback from these PPI members was incorporated throughout the research process.PMID:38402358 | DOI:10.1007/s10567-024-00470-x (Source: Clinical Child and Family Psychology Review)

The Relationship Between Negative Self-Concept, Trauma, and Maltreatment in Children and Adolescents: A Meta-Analysis
Clin Child Fam Psychol Rev. 2024 Feb 22. doi: 10.1007/s10567-024-00472-9. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTExperiencing trauma in childhood is a global public health issue linked to worse physical and mental health outcomes, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Self-concept is a transdiagnostic concept linked to various psychopathologies and understanding its unique relationship to trauma is important. This meta-analysis aimed to understand the size of the effect between trauma and maltreatment and self-concept in children and adolescents. The current meta-analysis searched PubMed, PILOTS, PsycINFO, and Web of Sci...

Clin Child Fam Psychol Rev. 2024 Jan 19. doi: 10.1007/s10567-023-00466-z. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTChildren and adolescents with psychopathic traits show deficits in emotion recognition, but there is no consensus as to the extent of their generalizability or about the variables that may be moderating the process. The present Systematic Review brings together the existing scientific corpus on the subject and attempts to answer these questions through an exhaustive review of the existing literature according to PRISMA 2020 statement.
