Gender Differences in the Relationship between Pressure from Schoolwork and Health Complaints: a Three Country Study
This study suggests that the role of gender in moderating this relationship differs across countries. Differing national approaches to testing and grade repetition, as well as differences in macro-economic and social contexts, especially between Australia and England on the one hand, and Spain on the other, are discussed as possible explanations for these gender differences. More research is needed on how these factors influence boys’ and girls’ perceptions of pressure and stress associated with schoolwork. (Source: Child Indicators Research)

Fit and Cross-Country Comparability of Children s Worlds Psychological Well-Being Scale Using 12-Year-Olds Samples
AbstractResearch on adolescents psychological well-being has been rare and lacks a sound theoretical framework. The International Survey of Childrens Well-Being (ISCWeB) is using the Childrens Worlds Psychological Well-Being Scale (CW-PSWBS) as a measure based on Ryffs model of psychological well-being. However, both Ryffs model appropriateness to adolescent population and its cross-country comparability are unclear. In order to cross-country compare statistics obtained from adolescents by using this instrument, its measurement invariance needs to be checked. The aim of this paper is to test the fit and the c ross-co...

Specifically, we analyze the relationship between LS and character strengths, controlling for gender, age, socioeconomic status, and family structure.
