Complications Following Body Contouring: Performance Validation of Bard, a Novel AI Large Language Model, in Triaging and Managing Postoperative Patient Concerns
ConclusionsDespite promising potential of LLMs and AI in healthcare-related applications, Bard ’s performance in the present study significantly falls short of accepted clinical standards, thus indicating a need for further research and development prior to adoption.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Changes of Facial Lipidomics by Intense Pulsed Light Treatment Based on LC-MS
ConclusionsIPL treatment does not have a significant effect on the overall amount of lipids while the amount of TG, PA, PG, LPG were significantly increased. These lipid changes may potentially improve the skin barrier function, but more high-quality and comprehensive studies are still needed.Bullet PointLipidomics analysis based on LC-MS; Changes of skin surface lipid after IPL treatment; the relationships between skin surface lipid and skin barrier functions.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Radiographic Study of the Nasal Valve in Different CT Evaluation Method in Asian Patients with Unilateral Cleft Lip Nose
ConclusionThe results of the two CT evaluation methods showed that there was a significant difference in nasal valve area on the cleft and non-cleft sides, which was significantly associated with nasal ventilation disturbance. The CT evaluation method based on standard axial 3D reconstruction is more convenient to use in the clinic, can be used for pre-surgical evaluation of nasal repair in patients with secondary nasal deformities of unilateral cleft lip, and is valuable for treatment.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. The 3-Level Approach to Facelift Planning: A Simple Paradigm for Surgical Rejuvenation of the Face
AbstractOur role as aesthetic surgeons demands individualized surgical planning that maximizes patient input and understanding. The value of such shared decision-making (SDM) in aesthetic surgery is becoming increasingly appreciated. This is particularly true for potential patients seeking surgical rejuvenation of the face, where the volume of “educational” information available on the internet, and through various social medial channels, may be overwhelming and even misleading. Presented is a “3-Level approach to facelift planning” named for the facial subregions targeted. This novel paradigm maximizes SDM with it...

The Problem of Diagnostic Criteria of Breast Implant Illness in Women After Breast Reconstruction: Review and Discussion of a Case
ConclusionBased on our case, we point on the fact that BII diagnosis in patients after breast reconstruction is challenging. We suggest that while considering such a diagnosis and further proceedings, e.g. explantation, especially in patients after breast reconstruction, some exclusion criteria should be considered. Dissatisfaction with the result of the surgery can also lead to somatisation and the presence of real clinical symptoms, which should not be confused with the possible autoimmune reaction to silicone particles.Level of Evidence IV This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Platelet-Rich Plasma Versus Platelet-Poor Plasma for Treating Facial Photoaging: a Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Splitting Face Study
ConclusionsBoth PRP and PPP are effective in treating facial photoaging. PRP exhibited slightly superior efficacy in enhancing overall skin condition, while PPP was slightly more effective in improving shallow wrinkles. This study provides valuable evidence for the use of PRP and PPP in facial rejuvenation procedures.Level of Evidence IThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each submission to which Evidence-Based Medicine rankings are applicable. Pain Levels Following Cosmetic Breast Surgery and An Easy-To-Use Pain Treatment Algorithm for Plastic Surgeons
ConclusionsSubpectoral breast augmentation is associated with higher levels of postoperative pain compared to breast reduction and mastopexy. Effective postoperative pain prevention is crucial following aesthetic breast surgeries. It not only helps to reduce hospital stays but also aids in patient recovery, facilitates a quicker return to daily activities, and enhances patient satisfaction. To achieve this objective, it is advantageous to utilize a practical pain treatment algorithm that is readily applicable.Level of Evidence IIIThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Clinical Application of Long-Pulsed 800-Nm Diode Laser Depilation Technology on Microtia Reconstruction in 965 Patients
ConclusionThe application of a long-pulsed 800-nm diode laser has been proved to be a safe and effective method for removing hair during the process of microtia ear reconstruction, involving the use of a tissue expander and autologous costal cartilage. To achieve satisfactory results in hair removal, it was found necessary to repeat the shots procedure two to three times.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. The Promise and Pitfalls of AI-Generated Anatomical Images: Evaluating Midjourney for Aesthetic Surgery Applications
ConclusionsThe implications of these findings are multifaceted. Primarily, the images ’ inaccuracies render them ineffective for training, leading to potential misconceptions. Additionally, their lack of anatomical correctness limits their applicability in scientific articles. Although the study focuses on a single AI tool, it underscores the need for collaboration between AI devel opers and medical professionals. The potential integration of accurate medical databases could refine the precision of such AI tools in the future.Level of Evidence IIIThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each artic...
