This result led Harold (Hal) Wolf, President and CEO of HIMSS to declare to the gathered journalists: “Let’s be honest, this is the first HIMSS where it feels like we are all back.” HIMSS23 certainly felt fuller and busier than the conferences held in 2021 and 2022. Biggest Themes from #HIMSS23
As we reach kind of the midpoint of the HIMSS 2023 annual conference, a few themes have really come into shape.  I’m happy (and kind of sad) to say that are predictions of the top topics were what we predicted in our HIMSS 2023 preview.  The two biggest themes at HIMSS are the two topics that are top of mind at most healthcare organizations: workforce and revenue. Data Quality is a Journey Not a Destination According to Clinical Architecture
Data quality is not a destination. It is a journey or perhaps a state of mind according to Clinical Architecture. There is risk in treating good data quality as a destination because what constitutes good quality today may not be sufficient for future needs. Clinical Architecture has created a data quality journey map that helps its clients get started and continue pushing for improved data quality. We spoke with Charlie Harp, CEO of Clinical Architecture via email about the data quality journey and what it’s implications are for healthcare organizations. 1. In th...

How Digital Transformation is Moving Patient Care Forward and its Impact on Hospitals
The following is a guest article by Dave Bennett, CEO at pCare Digital transformation has become a popular buzzword, but it’s more complicated than just that. It’s the process of implementing emerging digital technologies to modify a company’s essential operations, processes, and services to ease the staff workload and enable the organization to withstand future challenges. Both aspects have become crucial since the beginning of the pandemic. Digital transformation is about more than just technology; it provides new ways to deliver value.  In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, what was once the golden ...
