Research and Surveys Stanford Health Care tested GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 models with 64 general clinical questions and compared the output of the models to consultation reports. Researchers found that more than 90% of GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 answers were safe, meaning they wouldn’t lead to patient harm. At the same time, clinicians couldn’t assess agreement with the known answer 28% of the time, which is something researchers intend to look at further. A study from CWH Advisors and Synchrony found that 63% of providers have RCM staffing shortages, and 61% expect to work with third parties for help. Further compounding the problem: 59% of providers rate patient health literacy as poor despite their education efforts.
