Need ideas
I’m on the great strides advisory committee for my local CFF chapter. I have a meeting tonight and am looking for ideas to pass along. It’s been noted that most of great strides participants are families that have children with CF. There’re a lot of activities at the walk that are focused on kids, so this makes sense. Does anyone have any ideas on how to increase involvement of adults with CF? Of course, the infection control restrictions make this especially challenging. Ideas don’t have to be focused on great strides event. Any ideas to actively engage and encourage adult involvement in fundraising are welcomed. (S...

Looking for Stock photos for fundraising
I am looking for a few photos to download for our CF walk. In the past, to promote awareness I would use a photo of my daughter. I think she would prefer a generic photo of a logo from the CF foundation or purple ribbon and I am having trouble finding something. Help? (Source: Cystic Fibrosis Adults Forum)

Climbing for a Cure! Mt. Kilimanjaro 2015!
Hello everyone, I am trying to reach out to as many CF patients/families as possible! I am a mother of a cystic fibrosis patient who is fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I am climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in December of this year. I am traveling alone from Southern California and will be meeting with a group of climbers in Africa. I would love if people could help spread the word as I would like this to be a big fundraiser! Mt. Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest peaks at over 19,000 feet. I will be climbing for 7 days on the Machame route. I am very excited I am able to take part in such a big idea. Kaiser Permanen...

Do I Have A Fighting Chance?
Hello, I am Finn and I am hoping to apply to Medicine for 2014 entry, the following rant is probably inappropriately long (I will include a TLDR section at the bottom). I am looking for people who would be able to tell me whether I have a fighting chance for applying to Medicine this year. I will not go into details about why I want to because I would like to keep this nice and objective and opinionated, cold hearted S.O.B.s will be appreciated because applying this year will put a lot of strain on me (Financially, work load, social life, etc...) and I need to know if I am wasting my time (and if not, what Scottish Med Sc...

Fundraising for CFer awaiting double lung transplant
It is that time of year again. For the second year in a row I am promoting a Standup Comedy show to raise money for CF and / or CF Patients. This year we are raising money for Team TLC. Team TLC is a team comprised of friends and family of Terry Lee Carroll. Terry is a 32 year old CF patient who is currently awaiting a double lung transplant. Terry lives in Southgate, KY; just a short distance across the river and a couple miles from Cincinnati, OH. During his wait, he and his family will need to make several trips to the Cleveland Clinic, where he will eventually have his surgery. As you can imagine the financial burden t...

When is it too much information?
I have a three year old with CF. She is an active, happy girl. I am very involved with the CF Foundation and make speeches. I also am fundraising constantly on the phone and in person. My daughter is with me on all of these outings. I am starting to get worried she is hearing too much about the disease she has and will start getting stressed about it. I know she is three, but is this too much for her? Am I causing her to be worried about her disease too soon? (Source: Cystic Fibrosis Parenting Forum)
