Evalution of Iron Species in Healthy Subjects treated with Generic and Reference Sodium Ferric Gluconate
This study is part of post-market surveillance on approved generic products, which can help address potential concerns regarding the quality of generic iron complex products and support the Agency’s review standards. Detailed Descriptions: A prospective, randomized, 2-way crossover study to compare plasma TI, TBI, NTBI levels in healthy subjects treated with generic and reference sodium ferric gluconate injections is preferred. Utilize in vitro and in vivo biomarkers such as malondialdehyde, heme-oxygenase-1 (HO-1) RNA or others to evaluate the oxidative stress and toxicity caused by generic and RLD products. 1. Colle...

Limited Competition: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Biomarkers Consortium Data Coordinating Center (U01)
Funding Opportunity RFA-DK-13-506 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The Chronic Kidney Disease Biomarkers Consortium [CKD BioCon] was established in September 2009 as a result of RFA-DK-08-015 [Chronic Kidney Disease Biomarker Discovery and Validation Consortium (U01)] to develop, validate and qualify biomarkers based on existing biosamples from well-characterized CKD patients with longitudinal follow-up. The CKD BioCon consists of six Participating Centers (PCs) and is actively engaged in multiple research protocols. The initial Funding Opportunity Announcement to establish the Consortium did not provide...

Planning Grants for Translating CKD Research into Improved Clinical Outcomes (R34)
Funding Opportunity RFA-DK-13-002 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) encourages NIH Clinical Trial Planning Grant (R34) applications from institutions/organizations to assess the feasibility of testing the effectiveness of interventions for the prevention, treatment and management of chronic kidney disease that have a high likelihood of being widely adopted and sustained in a wide range of health care settings and in individuals and communities at highest risk. The approaches to be tested must be based on widely accepted intervent...
