10 Key Ideas from The Truth About Cancer
I don’t read many books on health. A while back, however, I came across The Truth About Cancer and decided to read it. I was interested in it because cancer is one of the top killers in the modern age. More personally, my mom passed away because of cancer. Note: This post is written by Zak Khan It is an unfortunate reality that most schools don’t teach learners how to succeed at life in a realistic and practical manner. Sure, an elaborate understanding of Mathematics and Science can open many doors but when challenged with real life problems, most of us crumble and fall into stagnancy. Over the last 7 years since finishing school, I’ve been through quite a few ordeals. Overcoming a life-changing disease was just one of the battles I won and you can read about that in a previous post I wrote for Life Optimizer (3 Ways to Overcome Adversity). The Role of Spirituality in Optimizing Life
If you want to live your life to the fullest, there are five aspects of life that you need to balance: work, health, learning, social, and spiritual. Out of the five, here I’d like to take a closer look at the role of spirituality in optimizing life. Spirituality plays an important role in our lives. Why Curiosity Is Important and How to Develop It
Are you curious about the world? Do you follow your curiosity? A while back, there was a talk featuring Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. Interestingly, when asked about an important trait they have, they both had the same answer. Their answer was curiosity. They both said that curiosity plays an important role in their success. Why Curiosity Is Important Why is that the case? Why is curiosity important? They said that curiosity pushes them to keep exploring the world and updating their model of the world. The model then helps them make the right decisions that lead them to success. To a much lesser extent, I can also attest...

4 Essential Ways to Thrive in a Fast-Changing World
This article explains that the main threat to jobs is not outsourcing but automation. Even jobs that seem safe, like accounting, are prone to automation. There are two things that can’t be automated, though: creativity and empathy. Machines can’t do these two things. So aim to have more of these qualities in yourself. Be more creative at what you do. And try to put empathy into the mix. 3. Be a Part of a Healthy Community Your life is like a tree. If you want to grow, you need to be planted on a good soil. That “good soil” is a healthy community. A healthy community gives you the support you need to face the challe...

Note: This post is written by Alex Moore In our fast-paced, always-on society, sleep can feel like an enormous waste of time. With so much pressure to get ahead, work hard, and put in as many productive hours as humanly possible, it might feel hard to justify spending an entire third of every single day lying in bed doing nothing. If that’s how you feel, though, you don’t really understand the importance of sleep. As it turns out, sleeping is the furthest thing from doing nothing: it’s actually an important and valuable activity that scientists claim is at least as important to our survival as eating or drinking wate...

5 Steps to a Healthier Mind – Getting to the Root Cause
Note: This post is written by Martin Hrnjak “Painkillers might ease symptoms temporarily, but unless treated from the core the problem will keep returning.” How often in life do we hide from whatever is bothering us? Maybe we are irritated all the time and respond badly to people asking us questions, maybe we are constantly in despair and don’t understand why dates never seem to work out, maybe we have a hard time finding a job; and instead of addressing the problem and facing the discomfort of looking at it in the eyes – we run, and hide. Shopping, partying, spending money we don’t have, lashing out at o...
