XRT for spine arthritis, or just extremities?
We've discussed many times here the merits of low dose RT for arthritis, but it seems to always be extremity. I guess my in-house program has taken off too well, because I got a referral for refractory spine arthritis pain, in a patient requiring interventions like nerve ablations. Has anyone here seen published or treated spine before? I'm sure someone must have tried it for ankylosing spondylitis or "rheumatism" back in the day. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I thought OMM would make me a rockstar at USMLE MSK questions. I was wrong.
It seems like a lot of my friends and I struggle with MSK on USMLE because it feels like the OPP COMAT writers purposely design OMM content to be non-overlapping with USMLE MSK content. Here is a list of USMLE MSK content I can come up with that NEVER shows up on OPP COMAT: SCFE LCP Charcot marie tooth syndrome Metabolic/neurological causes of ataxia Diabetic MSK foot changes Developmental dysplasia of the hip I also BARELY see questions about ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, RA, etc And... Psychiatry Programs With Low Hours? Concerns re: autoimmune fatigue.
Fourth year student here – trying to figure out which psychiatry residencies to apply to that have relatively low hours – around 40 hours a week at least for PGY2-4, and the lower the better for PGY1 . I need a program that is relatively low volume because I commonly get flares from Ankylosing Spondylitis (about 1-4x a month for about 1-2 days - more in the winter) that require me to sit down, and not be on my feet all day (otherwise I get pain in my lower spine, knees, hips, and wrists)... anyone else balancing a chronic illness and school?
After being misdiagnosed for several years I finally have been diagnosed with Lyme disease and ankylosing spondylitis. I'm wondering if anyone else balances school and their illness? I'm finding it difficult to continue in school and even questioning my ability to be a dentist with this chronic form of arthritis. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
