Decongestion and acetazolamide
Really interesting trial from European Society of Cardiology. ADOVAR. Adding acetazolamide 500mg IV daily + the usual IV frusemide resulted in higher rates of clinical decongestion at 3 days with no signals of harm in acute decompensated heart failure. Acetazolamide and Calcium stones
Does anyone know why Acetazolamide precipitates Calcium Oxalate stones? Is it because Acetazolamide causes metabolic acidosis and build up of H+ in the blood displaces Ca2+ from albumin --> excess free Ca2+ gets filtered by glomerulus and precipitates calcium stones? Thanks for the help! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
