Online learning – coursera
At the recent AAMC meeting, several speakers and friends exposed me to Coursera. The idea of online learning has great appeal.  Like many physicians (and obviously non-physicians) I love learning.  The idea that I can receive college quality lectures and studies online is wonderful. I am currently trying an online course.  The course has nothing to do with medicine, but thus far I find the lectures stimulating and thought provoking. My employment does not come up on credit checks and I have no criminal history. One club did issue 1099s for taxes under a discreet name, and I claimed my tips, but...

Puppy Mills in North Carolina
This was forwarded to me on the AAMC mailing list.   This is a picture of a puppy currently residing in a puppy mill in North Carolina. Under present state law, because she has “food, water and shelter” she cannot be rescued. Only when she is dead will she probably get out of this cage. … Read More → (Source: beth's myeloma blog)
