Antidepressants when not clinically depressed

I recently came an old book, Listening to Prozac by Peter Kramer, and found it interesting and wanted to get some opinions from practicing psychiatrists. Do you think that, hypothetically, if someone who does not meet criteria for MDD, GAD, or any other psychiatric disorder started an SSRI, could this confer some benefit to them such as resilience to everyday stresses, increased sociability/confidence, decreased overall neuroticism, or "feeling better than well" as Kramer puts it?
