Advances in Pain Management

Recent events have highlighted the need for better management of chronic pain. Pain is one of the most common reasons for an individual to visit the emergency room and one of the most common reasons for surgery. Neurosurgeons are often performing procedures for the purposes of managing pain, whether that be radiculopathy, trigeminal neuralgia, chronic regional pain syndrome, or peripheral nerve entrapment. This issue of Neurosurgery Clinics of North America explores multiple diverse aspects of neurosurgical pain care.
