Trauma informed care in nursing: A concept analysis

While the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted nurses as front-line heroes, the effects of pandemic-related trauma on students, nurses, and patients alike have forced examination of chronic stress exposure, documented trauma, complicated grief, depression, anxiety, and secondary stress syndrome. Although literature, discussion, and national dialogue around trauma-informed care has surged recently, a concept analysis of trauma-informed care is needed to begin filling in the gap of knowledge, specifically of how this is defined in relation to nursing science and clinical practice.
