Richter ´s Hernia Incarcerated Bowel Hernia at 5mm Port Site
A 46-year-old women G=3 P=0, C-section=3, underwent a Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) for complex endometrial hyperplasia. Six days after the discharge, she was re admitted with nausea, vomiting, fever and a sharp left lower abdominal pain. CT scan showed evidence of a bowel hernia on the 5mm left trocar site [Fig 1]. Laparoscopic surgery was done showing a large portion of small bowel incarcerated [Fig 2] and a hernia repair was performed using Endo Close ™ suturing device [Fig 3]. The laparoscopic surgery underwent without any complications, patient recovery was unremarkable.
