Stent placement using the EUS ‐PD rendezvous technique for pancreatic ductal stenosis after endoscopic papillectomy
AbstractEndoscopic papillectomy (EP) is an alternative to surgery for ampullary tumors [1-3]. Although EP is less invasive, it is associated with life-threatening adverse events [4]. Pancreatic ductal stenosis may be particularly troublesome because of the risk of acute pancreatitis if the stenosis cannot be released. Herein, we report a case of successful pancreatic stent placement using the endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided pancreatic duct drainage rendezvous technique for pancreatic ductal stenosis after EP. The patient was a 51-year-old woman who presented with abdominal pain 3 weeks after EP for ampullary carcinoma (Fig. 1a-c).
