Febrile seizure: what information can caregivers access through YouTube?

Febrile seizures are the most common seizures accompanying fever that occur in children (1). The age of onset is under 5 years of age in 95% of cases, and the onset is associated with neurological immaturity, not acute brain lesions. Febrile seizures are classified into simple febrile seizures and complex febrile seizures, and simple febrile seizures represent 65 to 90% of all febrile seizures (2). Although simple febrile seizure is a benign event, and in most cases, the patient recovers without any sequelae (1), the general public or laypeople feel extreme fear and anxiety when they observe a child experiencing a febrile seizure (3-6).
